Construction progress as of mid-November 2025
Works on the school building for 70 children and teenagers in the mountain village of Siaqol are progressing well. The basement and ground floor are already in place. Construction work will soon be complete enough for the building to be ready for the winter break. The upper floor will then be built in a second phase of construction in spring 2026. Follow the progress of our current project in the video (in German).

Construction begins in Siaqol!
Construction of the school for 70 children and teenagers in the Siaqol region began in August. Follow the progress of our project in the video (in German).
We want to build a new, larger school building in Siaqol to replace the two existing school buildings. All children and teenagers should be able to be taught in the new school building. The new school will have electricity, heating and separate toilets for boys and girls. The classrooms will have tables, chairs and a blackboard.
We are currently collecting donations for this. Support us and help provide the girls and boys in Siaqol with a better learning environment!

Let’s work together to improve the learning environment for children and young people!
At present, the children and teenagers from Siaqol and the surrounding areas (both girls and boys) are taught in two small rooms. The older part of the school has largely fallen into disrepair and looks like a ruin, but is still used for lessons due to a lack of space. Ten young people are crammed into two school desks; it is freezing cold in the small room. A white sheet of plastic in a wooden frame serves as a blackboard. Their younger classmates in the second building have no tables or chairs at all; they sit on the cold floor of the classroom and write on their knees. The walls serve as their blackboard; they are covered in several layers of Persian writing. There is no heating or toilets.

Completed Projects
A new bridge for an Afghan mountain valley
Bridges are essential to the infrastructure in the remote mountain valleys of Afghanistan. As part of another bridge-building project, we were able to completely renovate a second bridge thanks to your donations.
A new bridge for an Afghan mountain valley
In the valley where the village of Balna Shabbakhair is located, a single road winds its way along the mountain slopes, sometimes to the right of the river and sometimes to the left. It crosses the river at the valley floor time and again. As part of another bridge-building project, we were able to completely renovate a second bridge thanks to donations, ensuring it can withstand the spring meltwater and remains safe for people to cross.
The people of Balna Shabbakhair carried out the construction work themselves over the summer of 2024. The riverbed was dredged, the bridge’s foundations were reinforced with steel reinforcement bars and concrete, and the bridge was fitted with a railing and a drainage system for surface water. Our Co-President David Hassani was present in person at the bridge’s opening. Thank you for your support!

Construction of a bridge in Afghanistan
In 2023, we built a bridge near the village of Balna Shabbakhair in Afghanistan. This bridge enables the local population to reach the neighbouring village to attend school and access medical facilities.
A new bridge for Balna Shabbakhair
Balna Shabbakhair is a small village in the mountains of Afghanistan, in the Jaghori District of Ghazni Province. In order for its residents to reach the neighbouring village of Taina Shabbakhair and access facilities such as the school or medical centres, they must cross a small river. One of the existing bridges, made of wood and stone, was regularly destroyed by flooding caused by rainfall and melting ice.
In 2023, the donations we collected made it possible to rebuild the bridge in a more robust and sustainable way. It now withstands the annual floodwaters following the spring snowmelt. Many thanks to everyone who supported us!

Aid for Khaja Sarbur
In October 2023, several powerful earthquakes struck the Afghan province of Herat. Thousands of people lost their lives, whilst others lost everything they owned. We have supported families who, as a result of the earthquake, were left without a home or any means of income.
In December 2023, we were able to provide 16 families in the village of Khaja Sarbur near Herat with stoves and fuel for the winter. The video (in German) shows the aid supplies arriving in Khaja Sarbur. A resident of Khaja Sarbur also explains the situation in the village and what support the people need.
